The Malta Men’s National Hockey Team successfully concluded its preparation tour in Sicily, recording two wins from two matches ahead of the 2026 EuroHockey Championship Qualifier II, which will take place in Helsinki in the coming days.

In the opening match, Malta defeated Messina 3–1. After a balanced opening half, the Maltese side dominated the second half, with their tactical approach proving highly effective. The goals were scored by Deemer Rapinett, Nathan Pace Gasan and Thomas Degiovanni.

In their second fixture, Malta once again emerged victorious with a 3–1 win over Polisportiva Galatea U21. Despite it being their second match of the day, the players maintained a high tempo throughout, while the coaching staff rotated the squad to give every player valuable game time. Christ Agius scored once, while Joseph John Ellul-Turner netted a brace.

Malta has been drawn in Pool A alongside Greece, Finland and Gibraltar, with their opening qualifier set to be against Greece on July 9th.
