Malta’s young riders enjoyed a highly positive start at the Nations League event in Mons, Belgium, where students from the Malta Racing Club Academy supported by officials from EquestriMalta are representing the nation against Belgium and France.

The opening race immediately produced success for Malta. Aiden Buttigieg, riding My Lagan Juniper, secured a superb victory, giving Malta an ideal launch to the competition. Moments later, Jayden Debono added another strong result, placing third with Vita and ensuring two Maltese riders finished inside the top three in the first contest.

The second race saw Hailey Vella and Luca Bartolo Fenech continue Malta’s encouraging momentum. Vella, aboard Geronimo, finished fifth, while Bartolo Fenech placed sixth with Lluch Grandchamps. All four Maltese riders have now gained valuable international experience on the Wallonie course.

Two decisive races remain later this afternoon, scheduled for 4:20pm and 4:30pm, and are expected to determine the final standings between Malta, Belgium and France.

This participation is made possible through the full support and funding of EquestriMalta, whose initiatives continue to open international pathways for Malta’s emerging riders.
