Malta’s junior squash players delivered an excellent showing at the Slovenian Junior Open (ESF Bronze), held at the innovative SquashLand club in Ljubljana — the world’s first wooden squash facility. Nine Maltese athletes competed among 82 international players, producing standout performances across multiple age groups.

The weekend’s biggest highlights came from Tom Agius, who captured his first international title in the BU13 category after a dramatic 11–9 fifth‑game win, and Jocelyn Lydall, who powered to the GU17 crown with a confident 3–1 victory. Malta also celebrated podium finishes from Emma Inglott (silver, GU15) and Gwen Formosa and Alex Agius (bronze in GU15 and GU17 respectively).

Strong top‑10 results by Leo Ben‑Ari, Julian Scerri, Lenny Schembri, and Luca Michelotti May further underlined the depth of Malta’s emerging talent.

National coach Niall Engerer praised the team’s professionalism, resilience, and unity, calling it a landmark weekend for Malta Squash.
