Malta International Cain Attard Joins Hibernians

Hibernians FC have officially completed the signing of Maltese international wingback Cain Attard, adding experience and leadership to their squad ahead of the new campaign.
The 31-year-old defender joins the Premier League side after parting ways with Sliema Wanderers earlier this week, bringing an end to his latest spell with the Blues. Attard has now opted to continue his career with Hibernians, as confirmed by the Paola-based club in an official statement.
“Cain Attard joins Hibernians,” the club announced. “The 31-year-old Maltese international defender has officially joined our squad, bringing with him experience, leadership, and a winning mentality.”
Attard boasts an impressive career both locally and abroad. He began his senior journey with Pietà Hotspurs before earning a move to Birkirkara, where he established himself as one of Malta’s most reliable fullbacks. His performances later earned him a transfer overseas to Portuguese side Belenenses, marking a significant milestone in his career.
After returning to Malta, Attard featured for Sliema Wanderers, where he continued to perform at a high level in the domestic game. His move to Hibernians now represents the latest chapter in a career defined by consistency and top-flight experience.
