Malta Handball Association Hosts Elite Coaching Weekend

A highly productive weekend for Maltese handball unfolded as the Malta Handball Association hosted an intensive three‑day Coaching Weekend featuring European Handball Federation expert Allan Heine. The initiative brought together local and international coaches for a programme designed to elevate technical knowledge and reinforce best‑practice coaching principles within the sport.
Heine, who serves as Head of Youth Coaching & Academy at Aalborg Håndbold, delivered multiple sessions as part of the MHA’s Level 2 Coaching Course. His contributions blended theory and practical application, covering Danish coaching methodology, individual player development, and both defensive and attacking strategies. Sessions were held across the MHA Office, the University of Malta, and the Hamrun courts, ensuring a dynamic and immersive learning environment.
The Danish coach praised the participants’ engagement, describing the experience as inspiring and professionally enriching. His sentiment was echoed by MHA Technical Director David Ruch, who highlighted the value of exposing local coaches to elite‑level standards. President Daniel Tabone also emphasised the strong turnout as evidence of Malta’s growing commitment to structured, long‑term coaching development.
