Malta Finishes Second At Sofia 2026 European Snooker Championship

Aaron Busuttil and Chris Peplow, lost the final match of the European Snooker Championship against Polish duo Tomasz Skalski and Paweł Rogoz, with a score of 3-2.

This Men's team final was the highlight of this phase of the European Snooker Championship organised by the European Billiards and Snooker Association, where, for the third consecutive year, Malta lost in the final.

Two years ago, the same Busuttil and Peplow lost in Portugal, while last year Philip Ciantar and Isaac Borg lost the final in Albania. Ukraine won the final on both occasions.

This year, Malta came very close to making up for the results of the last two years, but when there were only two balls left to decide this final, Busuttil missed the pink ball, and Poland took the upper hand and did not fail to close the match in their favour.

Just like in Albufeira in 2024 and in Golem in 2025, Malta finished in second place. In addition to the silver medal, this year, Busuttil and Peplow won the trophy for the best break of this competition.

The final part of the EBSA European Snooker Championship in Sofia now continues with the individual competitions of the Six Reds and the Shoot Out competitions.
