Malta FA to support clubs hit by Storm Harry damage

The Malta Football Association has confirmed that 24 football clubs will receive financial aid after reporting facility damage caused by Storm Harry, which struck Malta in January 2026. Clubs were invited to submit detailed reports and quotations for repair works, forming part of a dedicated assistance scheme launched soon after the storm.

UEFA has allocated €28,000 towards the initiative, with the scheme covering 40% of eligible expenses, capped at €4,000 in recognised damage per club. This means each club can receive a maximum grant of €1,600.

Based on the submissions received, the total amount due to the participating clubs stands at €32,386. With UEFA’s contribution falling short of the full requirement, the Malta FA will provide an additional €4,386 to ensure every club receives the complete amount owed.

Through this measure, the association is helping clubs recover from the storm’s impact and restore their facilities to safe, functional standards.
