Malta celebrates 10‑medal haul at Special Olympics UAE Games

Malta’s athletes wrapped up a remarkable campaign in Abu Dhabi, returning home with an impressive 10‑medal tally six gold and four silver after a series of outstanding performances across bowling and bocce. The delegation also extended heartfelt thanks to Special Olympics UAE for their exceptional hospitality and continued partnership within the global Special Olympics movement.

In bowling, Malta dominated the lanes. Christian Zarb & Aiden Zammit struck gold in the men’s doubles, while Miriana Pace & Donna Vella secured silver in the women’s event. The four athletes then combined to win gold in the team competition. Individual events brought further success, with gold medals for Pace, Zarb, and Zammit, and silver for Vella.

In bocce, Nevice Grech claimed gold, while Christian Camilleri and Nathalie Galea earned silver. Karston Abdilla finished a strong fourth.
