Malta Blackball Teams Arrive in Gibraltar for 2026 Nations Cup Campaign

The Maltese national Blackball contingent arrived in Gibraltar late on Saturday ahead of the 2026 Nations Cup, which will be held at the Europa Sports Complex. Malta will be represented by four squads: the Men’s A team, Men’s B team, the Under‑23 side, and the Seniors (Over 40) team, all preparing for a demanding week of international competition.

The tournament, featuring 16 nations, will run until April 19. Alongside Malta, the event includes strong contenders such as Australia, England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Belgium, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Catalonia, Norway, Reunion Island, Shetland, Spain, and hosts Gibraltar.

Malta begin their commitments tomorrow with a busy schedule. At 09:30, the U23 team face Wales U23 B1, the Men’s B team meet Gibraltar Men B2, and the Men’s A team take on Catalonia. At 12:30, Malta’s Men’s A side return to the tables against Spain, while the Men’s B team face Mauritius. The Seniors open their campaign at 15:30 against South Africa, followed by another match at 18:30 against Belgium.

The Malta Blackball Federation acknowledged the support of SportMalta, whose International Participation Scheme made the trip possible. The teams now look to make their mark on the continental stage.
