Malta Awaiting Crucial Play-Off as Nations League Draw Takes Shape

Malta’s path in the upcoming UEFA Nations League has become clearer following the official draw for the competition’s fifth edition. The national team’s final league placement, however, hinges on a decisive League C/D play-off against Luxembourg in March. Victory would see Malta make history by securing a place in League C for the first time, while defeat would result in participation in League D.
Should Malta triumph in the play-off, they will join Group C4 alongside Iceland, Bulgaria and Estonia three established European sides that would offer a challenging but valuable competitive platform. If the result goes the other way, Malta will compete in Group D1, facing Gibraltar or Latvia, as well as Andorra.
