MAFA Hosts End Of Season Awards Ceremony 2025/26

The Malta Amateur Football Association organised its end-of-season awards ceremony for the 2025/26 campaign at an establishment in Mgarr, where the best teams and players were recognised throughout the evening.

The biggest honour of the night, the First Division champions title, went to Għaxaq Wolves, who enjoyed a consistent and strong season to finish at the top of the standings.

Runners-up Senglea Gunners showcased their strength by winning several other honours during the evening, including the Twanny Agius Fair Play Cup, the 70th Anniversary Cup, and the MAFA Knock-Out.

Attard Edex Kings were crowned Second Division champions after producing strong performances throughout the season, followed by Birżebbuġa St. Peter’s AFC, who were also promoted to the top MAFA category.

Marsa St. Michael won the Joe Compagno Cup after defeating Għaxaq Wolves in the final.

In the individual categories, the First Division top scorer award went to Auwal Abba of Valletta Stars St. Dominic with 12 goals, while in the Second Division, Oussama Boutayeb of Birżebbuġa St. Peter’s AFC was the top scorer with 17 goals. He also won the Best Player award in the same division.

The prestigious MAFA Player of the Year award went to Senglea Gunners goalkeeper Stephane Bitseki Moto, who was also recognised as The Sports Experience Best Player of the First Division after an outstanding season in which he played a key role in his team’s success.

In his speech, MAFA President Salvu Borg spoke about the success of the season and praised the cooperation of all teams in this regard. He also thanked the players and the match officials for their contribution in ensuring that matches were played in the best possible sporting spirit.
