Mġarr United Women Off To Flying Start With 3-1 Victory Over Valletta

Mġarr United Women have passed their first test of the season with flying colours, beating Valletta 3-1 in the opening match of the Assikura Women's League played at the Centenary Stadium.

Sylivia Kabene put Mġarr in front in the 31st minute, with the Greens heading into the break with the lead. Valletta equalised in the 55th minute through Salamatu Abdulai, restoring parity for the Citizens. Veronique Muscat reestablished Mġarr's lead in the 61st minute, with Sylivia Kabene scoring her second and Mġarr's third to seal the win for the Greens.

With this win, Mġarr have continued to build on their impressive form, getting their first league win after securing the Super Cup which was played last Friday, with the league champions beating Swieqi United 4-1 to lift the trophy.
