Luke Micallef Perconte and Dillon Cassar fachieved 6th and 7th place finishes in the Men's Half Marathon, respectively, with the race being the closing event of the Mediterranean Games in Taronto.
The competition took place this morning in sweltering, unforgiving heat, which resulted in almost half the field being forced to stop before the finish line.
The Maltese athletes battled the blazing heat and dug deep to achieve this fantastic result, with the Maltese Olympic Committee congratulating both athletes for "a gritty, gutsy performance" in very difficult circumstances.
