Maltese distance runner Luke Micallef enjoyed a memorable outing at the World Athletics Half Marathon Road Running Championships in Copenhagen, placing 92nd in the world with an impressive time of 1:05:17. The result marks a significant early‑season achievement, earning him a top‑100 finish and seeing him outperform 30 athletes from major running nations.

Micallef described the day as a special milestone, proud to measure himself against the world’s best and grateful for another opportunity to represent Malta on the international stage. His performance reflects both consistency and progression, reinforcing his status as one of Malta’s leading endurance athletes.

He also paid tribute to teammate Simon Spiteri, who shared the championship experience and flew the Maltese flag alongside him in Denmark.
