The Malta Records team visited the Sirens FC ground in St Paul’s Bay to officially present a new national milestone in Maltese football: the fastest hat‑trick ever scored in an MFA‑sanctioned league match. The honour was awarded to Luke Farrugia, who etched his name into local football history with an extraordinary feat earlier this season.

On 1 March 2026, while representing Kalkara United, Farrugia struck three goals in just 4 minutes and 6 seconds, between the 76th and 80th minute, during his team’s emphatic 9–2 victory over Rabat Ajax in the Amateur League 2. His explosive performance not only sealed the win but also set a benchmark never before achieved in Maltese league football.

Farrugia expressed pride in the achievement, emphasising that the record belongs as much to his teammates and the club as it does to him. He highlighted the collective effort behind Kalkara United’s successful season, which also saw the club earn promotion to a higher division.

The presentation at Sirens FC served as a celebration of individual brilliance and team unity, marking a memorable moment for both Farrugia and Kalkara United as they continue their upward trajectory in Maltese football.
