Lucas Ribeiro Macula Signs For Balzan FC

Lucas Ribeiro Macula has signed for Balzan FC, boosting Andrew Cohen's front line ahead of Balzan's return to top flight football.

Macula is no new name in Maltese football, having played for Marsa in the Challenge League before moving to the Premier League, represeting Gzira United, Birkirkara, and now Balzan.

In recent weeks, there had been speculation that Macula's future would be away from Birkirkara, with a number of clubs in the race to secure the Brazilian's signature ahead of a very competitive season.

Balzan head into this Premier League campaign fresh from winning the Challenge League last season, restoring their top flight status after being relegated during the 2024/2025 season.

Macula's addition confirms Balzan's ambition to make a strong return to the Malta Premier League, with the domestic championship set to commence in two weeks' time.
