LIFECYCLE TEAM RETURNS TO MALTA AFTER 2,000KM CYCLING CHALLENGE FROM PETRA TO JEDDAH

The LifeCycle Challenge 2025 participants have returned to Malta after completing a grueling 10-day, 2,000km cycling journey from Petra, Jordan, to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The team was welcomed at Malta International Airport by family and friends on November 28, following an adventure that tested endurance and determination.
Held between November 16 and 25, the challenge took riders through diverse landscapes, including deserts, coastal roads, and historic regions such as Aqaba, Wadi Rum, Tabuk, and AlUla. Starting at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Petra, the route ended on the Red Sea coast in Jeddah.
Cyclists faced extreme conditions, including temperatures reaching 40°C, strong winds, and even a four-hour sandstorm. Of the 20 participants, 18 completed the journey, while two withdrew due to technical issues.
LifeCycle Malta Chairman Alan Curry praised the team’s resilience, noting their commitment to raising awareness about kidney disease. Funds collected will support renal patients, purchase equipment, and fund research in collaboration with the University of Malta’s RIDT.
