Leonardi Voices Disappointment After Omission from Malta U21 Squad

Kian Leonardi has publicly expressed his disappointment after being left out of the latest Malta Under‑21 National Team squad, despite delivering one of his strongest seasons to date. The young forward recorded an impressive 14 goals and 7 assists, finishing as the highest‑scoring Maltese player in the league and emerging as a contender for the top‑scorer title.

Leonardi said he felt “let down” after receiving no call, message, or meeting regarding his exclusion. He described the decision as “disappointing, demotivating and frustrating,” particularly after consistently performing and working tirelessly to prove himself throughout the season.

Despite the setback, Leonardi remains determined to push forward. He stated that the omission will only motivate him to work harder, continue improving, and earn future opportunities with the national team.
