Late Kobe Bryant Remembered On His 47th Birthday

More than five years after the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of basketball icon Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gigi, their memory continues to live strongly in the heart of Vanessa Bryant.

On Saturday, 23 August, which would have been Kobe’s 47th birthday, Vanessa posted an emotional tribute on Instagram.

She shared a throwback photograph of herself kissing Kobe on the cheek in front of Milan’s famous Duomo cathedral. Her caption read:

“We love and miss you and Gigi so much. Sending our love to you. Happy birthday, baby,” followed by a red heart emoji.

Her latest tribute comes only a month after she shared a video of her youngest daughter, Capri, nicknamed Koko Bean, copying Kobe’s signature free-throw stance while wearing a purple cast.

Vanessa and Kobe were married for 19 years and had four daughters together: Natalia, Gianna, Bianka and Capri.
