Karl Izzo Reconfirmed as ASA Malta President for Another Three Years

Karl Izzo has been reconfirmed as president of the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta (ASA) for the next three years, receiving an overwhelming 82 per cent of votes from delegates at the association’s annual general meeting.

Izzo, who has led the ASA for the past three years, has been credited with strengthening the foundations of water polo, swimming, open water swimming, and artistic swimming in Malta. His leadership has been widely recognised for fostering growth and improving the organisation’s overall structure.

Looking ahead, Izzo outlined ambitious plans for his new term, including modernising the association, introducing an Athletes Association, enhancing coach licensing, and further reinforcing the foundations of all aquatic disciplines in the country.

The strong mandate from ASA delegates reflects confidence in Izzo’s vision and continued commitment to developing Maltese aquatics at all levels, ensuring the sport’s sustainability and growth for years to come.
