Joseph Mbong’s triumph capped with emotional tribute

Joseph Mbong has been officially named MFA Footballer of the Year, marking one of the proudest moments of his career. In a heartfelt message, the Ħamrun Spartans star reflected on the significance of joining the list of Maltese greats who have earned the honour, describing it as the continuation of a dream that began 18 years ago.

Mbong expressed deep gratitude to everyone at Ħamrun Spartans his teammates, coaching staff, kit managers, club committee, CEO, President and the club’s passionate supporters. He emphasised that each of them played a vital role in helping him reach this milestone, highlighting the unity and commitment within the club.

He also paid special tribute to his fiancée Nicole and both families, acknowledging their constant support and sacrifices throughout his journey. In an emotional moment, Mbong dedicated the award to his late father, saying he is certain he is “smiling down” on him and his brothers.
