JOANNA VASSALLO, STEFANIA BONNICI, AND STEVE BALDACCHINO REPRESENT MALTA IN PRESTIGIOUS EUROPEAN ASSIGNMENTS

Maltese referees have proudly represented Malta in the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship 2026 Qualifiers, showcasing their talent and professionalism on the international stage.
FIFA Referee Joanna Vassallo was appointed to officiate in Group B5, hosted in North Macedonia. Her first assignment came on 25th November, where she refereed the clash between Slovenia and Azerbaijan at the Kukus Stadium in Strumica. She later served as fourth official in the match between North Macedonia and Azerbaijan at the Mladost Stadium, before returning to the center for the fixture between Azerbaijan and Georgia. Joanna worked alongside referee teams from North Macedonia, Slovakia, Lithuania, and Albania.
Meanwhile, Stefania Bonnici and Steve Baldacchino were entrusted with duties in Group B6, hosted in Malta. Stefania served as Assistant Referee, while Steve took on the role of Fourth Official during matches featuring Israel, Kazakhstan, and Latvia. They collaborated with officials from Georgia, Armenia, and Serbia throughout the tournament.
