Maltese distance runner Jeremy Curmi delivered an impressive performance at the Valencia Half Marathon, setting a new personal best of 1:12:08 despite enduring a challenging period in the build-up to the race.

Competing in his second event of the prestigious SuperHalfs series, Curmi demonstrated determination and resilience to produce a performance that marked an important milestone in his running career.

The achievement was particularly satisfying after a health setback last month affected his performance at the Copenhagen Half Marathon.

Following several difficult weeks, Curmi returned to competitive action in Valencia with renewed determination, successfully translating his hard work and dedication into a personal record.

Reflecting on his achievement, the Maltese athlete emphasised the importance of patience, consistency and perseverance when overcoming obstacles.

Curmi expressed his gratitude towards coach Clive Ferrante for his continued guidance, encouragement and confidence throughout the challenging period.

He also paid tribute to his wife, Rachel Curmi, acknowledging her unwavering support and patience during his preparations.

While delighted with his latest achievement, Curmi remains focused on further improvement and has already identified his next major objective.
