JAMIE CARRAGHER JOINS FGURA UNITED PLAYERS’ COUNCIL FOR INSPIRING Q&A SESSION

Yesterday, Fgura United’s Players’ Council welcomed former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher for an engaging Q&A session focused on his charitable work with the 23 Foundation. The event, organized in partnership with the Ministry for Home Affairs, Security and Employment and the Malta Football Association, formed part of the national Stop the Hate campaign promoting inclusion and respect through sport.
Carragher shared his experiences of using football as a platform for social change, inspiring players to continue their community-driven efforts. Over the past year, the Players’ Council has launched several impactful initiatives, including the Goal of Care Programme, which donates €5 for every goal scored by the club’s First Team, U21, U17, and U15 squads to the Association for Abandoned Animals and Frame Football Malta.
Other projects include Education Through Football, featuring inclusive drawing books and workshops led by first-team players, Safe Driving Workshops for youths, Football for All open-pitch sessions, and an ongoing Shoe Collection Drive for children in need.
The event highlighted the power of football beyond the pitch, reinforcing its role in education, inclusion, and social responsibility.
