James Galea Jr Wins Fourth Stage Of MSSF Trap Competition

James Galea Jr emerged as the overall winner of the fourth stage of the MSSF Trap Competition 50+50+25 (T4), held in challenging conditions due to high temperatures.

Galea Jr produced an impressive final score of 117/125, securing first place overall and achieving the MSSF minimum qualifying score (MQS). Nico Sciberras finished second with 114/125, while Emmanuel Bugeja completed the podium in third place with 111/125.

The competition followed a demanding three-stage format. All participants initially shot at 50 targets, with the 12 highest-scoring athletes progressing to the next round. After 100 targets, only the top six advanced to compete over a further 25 targets.

Following the opening 50 targets, Brian Galea and James Galea Jr shared the lead on 47/50, followed by Emmanuel Bugeja on 46/50. After 100 targets, Galea Jr moved into outright first place with 93/100, ahead of Sciberras on 91/100 and Brian Galea on 89/100.

In the Class A standings after 50 targets, Brian Galea and James Galea Jr led with 47/50, followed by Sciberras on 45/50. Class B was won by Nazzareno Attard with 43/50, while Jonathan Vassallo topped Class C with 38/50.

The next Trap competition, the QCSC Competition (2), will take place on 6 September 2026 at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.
