James Camilleri Secures 3rd Place At Double Ironman In Austria

Maltese triathlete James Camilleri has claimed third place 🥉 at the prestigious Double Ironman Ultra Triathlon in Bad Radkersburg, Austria.

The punishing event saw athletes complete a 7.6km swim, a 360km cycle, and an 84.4km run. Camilleri endured 11 hours of heavy, non-stop rain, making the challenge even more demanding.

Reflecting on the achievement, Camilleri highlighted the importance of mental resilience, as well as the encouragement he received from Therese Genovese and Philip Cachia. He also extended his congratulations to fellow Maltese competitor Silvio Sciberras, who successfully completed his first Double Ironman race.

Camilleri expressed gratitude to his coach Fabio Spiteri for the tailored training programme and guidance, and to his family and friends for their steadfast support throughout the competition.
