Italian Football Legends Set For Malta Visit

Three renowned figures of Italian football, Simone Perrotta, Stefano Eranio and Pietro Vierchowod, will be in Malta from 25 to 27 September for the Calcio Italia Legends initiative.

The events will support Step Up for Parkinson’s as part of the fifth edition of the Sport for Parkinson’s campaign, while also offering young Maltese footballers an opportunity to meet the former stars.

Perrotta, who earned 48 caps for Italy, was part of the side that lifted the 2006 FIFA World Cup and enjoyed nine seasons with Roma. Vierchowod was a member of Italy’s 1982 World Cup-winning squad and later lifted the Champions League with Juventus. Eranio, meanwhile, represented Italy 20 times and enjoyed a distinguished career with Genoa and AC Milan.

The trio will attend the Calcio Italia Legends Dinner at AX The Palace on Friday evening, meeting guests, sharing stories and signing memorabilia.

On Saturday, they will participate in a youth football camp at the Kirkop FC Sports Complex from 1pm, followed by a meet-and-greet from 5.30pm.

The initiative combines football nostalgia with a charitable cause while giving aspiring players the opportunity to interact with three distinguished names from Italian football.
