Isaura Camilleri Zahra wins women’s 5K in Limassol

Isaura Camilleri Zahra claimed overall victory in the women’s category at the KEAN 5K, held as part of the Cyprus Road Races Grand Prix in Amathounta, Limassol.

Camilleri Zahra produced an excellent performance to complete the 5km race in 18 minutes and eight seconds, finishing 24 seconds ahead of runner-up Aleksandra Kalistratova, who crossed the line in 18:32. Anastasia Papadovasilaki completed the women’s podium in 18:46.

The Maltese athlete’s performance also saw her finish 14th overall in the combined field, while she comfortably secured first place in the W35 category.

Adrian Zahra also put in a solid performance in Limassol, completing the race in 20:06. His time earned him 33rd place overall and 15th position in the senior men’s category.

The results provided further recognition for the Maltese runners on the international stage, with Isaura’s overall women’s victory the highlight of the day.

Both athletes can look back on a strong showing in Cyprus, with Camilleri Zahra’s winning run particularly standing out among the competitors.
