Hockey Malta Launches ADVANCE 10-Year Strategy

The Hockey Association of Malta officially launched its new ten-year strategy, titled ADVANCE, a document that will guide the development of the sport until 2036.
The event brought together representatives from Sport Malta, the Maltese Olympic Committee, EuroHockey, clubs, coaches, players, and volunteers.
The President of Hockey Malta, David Agius, opened the evening by outlining the vision behind this ambitious strategy, while representatives of the Maltese Olympic Committee, including Joseph Cassar and Julian Pace Bonello, highlighted the importance of long-term planning for Maltese sport.
During the presentation, Tom Pedersen-Smith from EuroHockey provided a European perspective on the development of hockey, while Phil Taylor of Blueprint Sport Strategy Consultants explained the process that led to the creation of the strategy. The event concluded with reflections from Peter Elders, a member of the EuroHockey Executive Board.
During the evening, Qormi HC also received the prestigious Small European Club of the Year 2025 award, an important recognition for Maltese hockey at European level.
The ADVANCE strategy aims to strengthen participation, coaching, facilities, and the international presence of hockey in Malta over the next decade.
