Hibernians Strengthen Midfield with Signing of Matthew Debattista

Hibernians FC have bolstered their midfield options with the acquisition of 23‑year‑old Matthew Debattista from Challenge League side Swieqi United. The young midfielder, known for his creativity and energy, has agreed personal terms and is set to join the Paolites on an 18‑month contract as the club looks to reinforce its squad ahead of the Closing Round.

The Paola side has been actively seeking fresh talent following a disappointing Opening Round in which they narrowly missed out on a Top Six finish. Determined to reignite their Premier League campaign, Hibernians view Debattista as a player capable of injecting new drive and vision into their midfield setup.

Debattista, who made 11 appearances and scored once for Swieqi United this season, arrives with the backing of coach Branko Nisevic, who has long admired his potential.
