Hibernians crowned MAPFRE MSV Life Women’s Knockout champions

Hibernians clinched the MAPFRE MSV Life Women’s Basketball Knockout after a thrilling 62–59 victory over Caffe Moak Luxol in Tuesday’s final, a match that remained tense until the final buzzer.

Luxol started strongly, taking the first quarter 16–12 thanks to the efforts of Wikstrom and Carabott. Hibernians responded with authority in the second period, producing a 21–7 run to head into halftime leading 33–23, driven by the scoring of De Martino and Macleod.

Luxol fought back in the third quarter with tighter defence and a 13–3 surge that briefly put them ahead 36–35. The final quarter remained finely balanced, with Wikstrom keeping Luxol within reach, but Hibernians held firm in the decisive moments to secure the win.

Wikstrom led all scorers with 26 points, while De Martino’s 20‑point display earned her Player of the Match honours. Coach Charlie Bonnici praised both teams and said Hibernians will now shift focus to the league campaign.
