HIBERNIANS AND MĠARR UNITED SET FOR WOMEN’S JUBILEE CUP FINAL SHOWDOWN

Hibernians and Mġarr United will contest this year’s special edition of the Women’s Jubilee Cup final on 8th December, following impressive semi-final victories over the weekend.
Hibernians booked their place with a commanding 3–0 win over Birkirkara, though they had to wait until after the hour mark for the breakthrough. Captain Nicole Sciberras opened the scoring before Uganda’s in-form striker Sylivia Kabene sealed the result with a late brace. This triumph sends the Paolites into their fourth consecutive domestic cup final, reaffirming their dominance on the big stage.
The second semi-final was a nail-biter, as Mġarr United edged Swieqi United in a dramatic penalty shoot-out. Goalkeeper Patricia Ebejer was the hero, pulling off three crucial saves. Swieqi managed just one successful penalty through Tammy Falzon, while Mġarr converted via Yulya Carella, Maia Debono, and Valeria Villegas.
Currently unbeaten in the league with eight straight wins, Mġarr head into the final riding a wave of confidence, building on last season’s historic Knock-Out title. Fans can expect an intense battle as two of Malta’s top women’s teams clash for silverware.
