Haley Bugeja Scores For Inter For Victory Against Genoa

Maltese striker Haley Bugeja made a decisive impact in Inter Women’s opening match of the new Serie A Women’s Cup season, scoring in a 2-1 away victory over Genoa.

Inter began strongly, pressing high and dictating the pace of the game. After captain Elisa Bartoli had opened the scoring with a header from a corner in the 25th minute, Bugeja struck to double the lead just before half-time.

Reacting quickly to a rebound inside the box, Bugeja found the net in close range to secure her first goal of the campaign.

Genoa pulled one back late on through Mele, but Bugeja’s strike ultimately proved crucial in sealing three points for the Nerazzurre.
