Graham Borg claims sixth FiTri Masters 2 victory in Italy

Graham Borg continued his outstanding 2026 season with another age-category victory at the FiTri Masters 2 Sprint Triathlon in Acciaroli, Salerno, Italy, on 3 October.
Borg claimed his sixth Masters 2 victory from six FiTri races, while finishing an impressive 18th overall among 143 competitors in the sprint-distance event.
The Maltese triathlete produced a strong performance across all three disciplines, completing the swim in 11 minutes and six seconds before covering the 20-kilometre cycling leg in 29:33. He then clocked 19:20 for the five-kilometre run to cross the finish line in 1:01:23.
Borg finished approximately two-and-a-half minutes ahead of his closest age-group rival, recording his second-fastest sprint triathlon time of the season.
The latest success also strengthens his position in the battle for the Masters 2 Champion title in Southern Italy. He has already secured victories in the Mazzara del Vallo and Reggio Calabria races forming part of the regional series.
Borg’s impressive campaign continues later this month with races in Sicily, including the San Vito Lo Capo sprint and the Mondello Olympic-distance final.
He will then turn his attention to longer-distance racing, with his second full-distance Ironman of 2026 scheduled to take place in Oman.
