Graham Borg Claims Dominant Age-Group Victory in Sicily Mondello Cup

Triathlete Graham Borg continued his impressive run of podium finishes with another commanding performance at the Mondello Cup in Palermo last Sunday 10th May.

Borg secured victory in the Masters2 age category and finishing 16th overall among a field of 164 athletes in the sprint triathlon race, producing a strong all-round display across the three disciplines.

He completed the swim in 10 minutes, followed by the 20km bike segment in 33 minutes and 32 seconds, before closing the race with a solid 5km run in 19 minutes and 20 seconds. His combined effort saw him cross the finish line in a season-best time of 1 hour, 2 minutes and 56 seconds — finishing an impressive three minutes ahead of his closest rival in the S2 category

The latest triumph comes just one week after Borg completed his first Half Ironman race since retiring back in 2018, in which he recorded the second-fastest time of his career, finishing in 4 hours and 20 minutes — only three minutes shy of his personal best performance achieved back in 2018.
