The Gozo Football Association (GFA) is set to increase the number of foreigners that each First and Second Division club can sign, after the GFA and the gozitan clubs anonymously agreed on the matter during an internal meeting.

Each club from the Gozo First and Second Divisions can now have six foreigners. In the First Division, each club can have four players outside of the European Union, and two players from the European Union.

In the Second Division, each club can have two players outside of the European Union, and four players from the European Union.

Kerċem Ajax FC and "Il-Kampjonat Għawdxi" both expressed growing concerns surrounding such a decision, highlighting how this can negatively impact young players' chances of breaking into first team football, creating a complicated situation for Gozo's homegrown players.
