A lifelong Gozitan fan of Benfica, Philip Cassar, was given the opportunity of a lifetime when he was featured on the big screen during Benfica’s crucial Champions League clash against Napoli.
Cassar, who remains devoted to Benfica, also plays a significant role in his local community as the club photographer for his hometown side Sannar Lions. On top of that, he has occasionally had the privilege of working as a pitch-side photographer at matches involving the Malta national football team.
His moment in the spotlight came at just the right time, Benfica emerged victorious over Napoli with a 2–0 win, strengthening their position in this year’s Champions League and capping a memorable night for Cassar.
