Valletta FC has welcomed a landmark development in its long-term vision, following the Prime Minister’s announcement that the Government will propose to Parliament the allocation of a site in Pembroke for the creation of the Valletta FC Football Campus. The project, described as a flagship regional sports and community hub, marks a major milestone after years of planning and collaboration between the Club and the Government.

The proposed campus is designed to deliver wide-ranging social and sporting benefits, with a strong focus on youth development, community wellbeing, education, and inclusion. Thousands of athletes, schools, women’s football programmes, and community groups are expected to benefit from the state-of-the-art facilities.

With more than 27,000 supporters, Valletta FC is Malta’s most followed club, and the new campus forms part of a broader master plan to elevate the country’s sporting infrastructure. The project is aligned with existing planning policies and aims to enhance the liveability of the surrounding area.

Prime Minister Robert Abela emphasised that the Government is honouring its commitment to the Club, while Valletta FC President Claudio Grech described the announcement as a long-awaited moment of clarity that will help transform the Club into a regional football powerhouse. The Club will now continue engaging with stakeholders as the Parliamentary process unfolds.
