The Marsa Racetrack hosted its 37th and 38th meetings of the season over the weekend, featuring an action‑packed programme of 21 trotting races, including five long‑distance French finals over 2640 metres. The highlight of the weekend was the Prix De Vincennes final for Premier‑class trotters, where favourite Gaspar D’Angis, driven by Charles Camilleri, delivered a commanding performance to secure victory.

A field of eleven trotters lined up for the prestigious final. True to expectations, Gaspar D’Angis surged ahead immediately after the official start, opening an early lead over Eden de L’Iton, driven by Dylan Baldacchino, and Farmer Keryvon, piloted by Rodney Gatt. Maintaining a strong and steady pace throughout the demanding distance, Gaspar D’Angis resisted a late challenge from Farmer Keryvon to claim his third consecutive win in Malta.

Eldorado De Ver, driven by Noel Baldacchino, finished in third place, followed by Galago Du Gadran with Paul Galea and Forban driven by Cherise Farrugia, rounding off a competitive field.

Following the race, Malta Racing Club chairman Anthony Mifsud and Malta Equidrome Chief Executive Matthew Brincat presented the winning trophies to owners Stephen Ciangura and Matthew Fenech, along with driver Charles Camilleri, celebrating another standout moment in the local trotting season.
