Għaxaq Boċċi Club Win Direct Clash Against St Peter's Żabbar

The First Division Bocci Championship continued with its sixth round where, in the main clash of the day, Għaxaq defeated St Peter’s Żabbar 21-6.

This result means that the Għaxaq side now sit alone at the top of the standings after winning all six matches played so far. The team made up of Noel Axiaq, Joseph Tabone and Michael Buhagiar proved superior throughout the encounter and, despite the efforts of the Żabbar side, there was little they could do on the day.

Msida registered a dominant 21-0 victory over Qormi San Bastjan and now have five points in the standings. Żejtun defeated Santa Venera 21-8, while Żurrieq won away from home against Bugibba 21-11. Meanwhile, Lija beat San Ġwann 21-16 away from home with Żebbuġ having a hard nut to crack against Birkirkara although they won 21-18.

The current standings of the First Division see Għaxaq top with 6 points, Msida and Żabbar with 5, Lija with 4, Birkirkara, Żejtun and Żurrieq with 3, Santa Venera and Żebbuġ with 2, and San Ġwann, Bugibba and Qormi San Bastjan with 1.
