Freedom Day Regatta Moved to Saturday Due to Strong Winds Forecast

Regatta Malta has announced a further change to the schedule of the 2026 Freedom Day Regatta, with the event now set to take place on Saturday 11th April.

The regatta had already been postponed due to unfavourable weather conditions, but organisers have now opted to bring it forward in light of new forecasts predicting strong winds on Sunday.

Races are scheduled to begin at 10:00am, with organisers aiming to finally complete the competition and crown this year’s winners.

According to weather reports, Sunday is expected to bring southeast winds reaching force 4 to 6, conditions which could significantly disrupt the races and impact fairness for competitors.

With this adjustment, Regatta Malta hopes to ensure a smoother and more competitive event for all participants.
