Fourth Edition Of The Mediterranean Cup Proves Successful

Last weekend, the fourth edition of the Mediterranean Cup was successfully organised at the Żabbar and Marsaskala grounds, where around 500 boys and girls from various Maltese and Gozitan clubs took part in a competition that further highlighted the importance of youth football development.

Among the participating clubs were Ħamrun Spartans, Marsaskala, Mqabba, Żabbar, Sirens, Fgura, Balzan, Hibernians Women FC, Sannat, Żebbuġ, Mosta, Gharghur, ŻC Academy and Għaxaq. There was also international participation, with Italian side Lazio involved in several matches. While maintaining a strong emphasis on learning and experience, the games were played at a competitive level, with the kids getting an important taste of competition in their early years.

The organisers of the competition stated that the Mediterranean Cup continues to serve as an important platform for football development, where competition, learning and passion come together to provide young players with a positive experience.
