Four Young Maltese Drivers Head to Belgium For Return Leg Of Nations League Exchange

Four young Maltese drivers from the Malta Racing Club Academy will travel to Belgium to represent Malta in the return leg of the 2026 Nations League youth exchange on Tuesday, 11 August.

The event, taking place at the Mons racetrack, continues the international initiative between Malta and Belgium aimed at providing young drivers with valuable racing experience and exposure to different racing environments from an early stage in their development.

Aiden Buttigieg, Jayden Debono, Luca Bartolo Fenech, and Hailey Vella will be representing Malta in Belgium, taking part in a programme featuring a number of races with trotting ponies, competing alongside their Belgian counterparts and gaining first-hand experience of racing on an international stage.

Tuesday's event follows the successful first leg of the exchange held at the Malta Equidrome on 24 July, when four young Belgian drivers travelled to Malta to compete against students of the Malta Racing Club Academy in two special races. The return visit now gives another group of Maltese Academy students the opportunity to experience racing abroad and continue the sporting and personal connections established between the two countries.

The Maltese participants will be accompanied by EquestriMalta officials, Malta Racing Club Academy instructors and their parents throughout their visit to Belgium.

The Malta Racing Club believes that initiatives of this kind play an important role in developing the next generation of drivers, allowing youngsters to build their skills and confidence while experiencing the sport beyond Malta.

The Malta Racing Club wishes Aiden, Jayden, Luca and Hailey the very best for Tuesday's races and an enjoyable and rewarding experience representing Malta in Belgium.
