FORMER ROMA STAR ANTE ĆORIĆ LEAVES ĦAMRUN SPARTANS

Croatian midfielder Ante Ćorić has become the second player to leave Ħamrun Spartans this month ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The Maltese champions confirmed that the decision to terminate the player’s contract was taken by mutual agreement, thanking Ćorić for his professionalism and contribution during his time at the club and wishing him well for the future.
Ćorić joined Ħamrun Spartans last summer as one of the club’s major signings for their European campaign. The former Roma midfielder played an important role in the Spartans’ run to the League Phase of the UEFA Conference League, helping the team eliminate Latvian side RFS. He also scored in the historic 3–1 victory over Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar.
During his spell with the Spartans, Ćorić made 18 appearances and scored two goals.
His departure follows that of Bosnian forward Semar Smajlagić, who was also released earlier this month.
Ħamrun Spartans are expected to strengthen their squad in the coming weeks and have already announced the signing of Colombian forward Damir Ceter as they prepare for the next phase of the season.
