Floriana Focused on Rebound as They Host Drita in Second Qualifying Round

Floriana FC addressed the media on Monday ahead of their UEFA Conference League Second Qualifying Round home match against FC Drita, with Head Coach Daniel Portela and captain Dunstan Vella outlining a determined and disciplined approach.

Portela stressed that Floriana must “rediscover their identity” following last week’s heavy 5–1 defeat to Shamrock Rovers in Dublin, a result that shifted the Greens from the Champions League qualifiers into the Conference League pathway. He noted that the squad had learned valuable lessons from both legs and insisted that the team is fully fit and prepared for a tactical, high‑intensity encounter.

Vella echoed his coach’s confidence, describing the dressing‑room atmosphere as “very positive” despite recent setbacks. He emphasised the importance of correcting mistakes made in Ireland and believes Floriana can deliver a strong performance at Ta’ Qali.

Both teams enter the tie after Champions League elimination Floriana on a 5–3 aggregate, Drita on 4–3 against Kauno Žalgiris adding further weight to tomorrow’s meeting as each seeks to revive their European campaign.
