Floriana FC and Marsaxlokk FC Players And Coaches Comment During Finalissima Pre-Game Press Conference

As the Malta Premier League final approaches, both Marsaxlokk FC and Floriana FC players and coaches shared their thoughts ahead of the season's grand finale.

Marsaxlokk head coach Enzo Potenza insisted his side fully deserve their place in the final after showing consistency throughout the campaign. While acknowledging that Floriana had deserved their victories in previous meetings this season, Potenza stressed that his team now wants to seize the opportunity to win the title after already securing European qualification. He described Marsaxlokk as a side that has grown tactically, technically and physically over the past two years, adding that the final remains “50/50”.

Club captain Niki Muscat highlighted the strong mentality within the dressing room, describing the final as both an honour and an exciting challenge. Muscat admitted the squad is eager to finally defeat Floriana after failing to do so in earlier encounters this season.

Floriana assistant coach Jean Paul Desira called the occasion a privilege and praised the club’s recruitment strategy, which he believes helped create a balanced squad with strong character and mentality.

Floriana captain Dunstan Vella warned that finals are entirely different from league matches. Despite Floriana’s unbeaten record against Marsaxlokk this season, he stressed the importance of maintaining focus, confidence and the same style of football that guided the team throughout the campaign.
