First US Kids Local Golf Tour Featuring 52 Boys & Girls Held In Malta

Around 52 boys and girls aged between 6 and 18 took part in the first US Kids Local Tour competition held at the Royal Malta Golf Club in Marsa.

The competition, which is open to both local and international players, provides children and young golfers with valuable opportunities to qualify for international tournaments and gain further experience in the sport. US Kids Local Tours operate in more than 40 countries, with Malta now also forming part of this international programme.

Over the years, several golfers who are now among the best in the world competed in U.S. Kids Golf events, including Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka and Collin Morikawa. In a recent edition of the U.S. Open, 50 players in the field were alumni of the programme.

The boys’ winners were Andre Lemire (6 and under), Albie Cleasby (7), Oliver Forsberg (8), Andrea Marchisio (9), Moss Haris Kiberu (10), Lorenzo Marchisio (11), Alex Mece (12), Laurent Sukys (13-14) and Maximillian Jagebo (15-18).

The girls’ winners were Ines Suke (8 and under), Ellie Padidar (9-10), Grace Wang (11-12), Zishuo Wu (13-14) and Krista Formosa (15-18).

This initiative provides an important opportunity for young golfing talent in Malta to develop their skills and potentially progress to compete on the international stage.
