Federico Varela named LifeStar Insurance MVP for May

Federico Nicolás Varela has been awarded the LifeStar Insurance Most Valuable Player for May, adding another prestigious accolade to a standout season with Floriana FC. The Argentinian attacking midfielder played a decisive role in guiding the Greens to their record 27th league title, delivering consistent match‑winning performances throughout the campaign.

Varela received the MVP trophy following Floriana’s dramatic Finalissima victory over Marsaxlokk, marking his eighth MVP award of the league season the highest tally of any player. His influence, creativity and leadership in midfield were central to Floriana’s success, making him one of the most impactful foreign players in Maltese football this year.

Earlier this week, he was also voted Best Foreign Player for the 2025/26 season, further recognising his exceptional contribution.

The presentation was held at the LifeStar Insurance offices, where senior officials Jonathan Camilleri and Roberto Apap Bologna handed Varela his award.
