Father And Son Duo Claim Final Round Glory At RMYC Quest Dinghy Regatta

Brian and Danny Flahive won the RMYC Quest Dinghy Regatta, concluding on Tuesday afternoon and bringing a series of competitive racing to a close.
Twelve teams were divided into two groups, each completing 12 races across the qualifying round. The top three teams from each group advanced to the Final Round, while the remaining teams competed in a Consolation Round to ensure maximum racing for all participants.
The Consolation Round was won by the father-and-daughter pairing of Sebastian and Olivia Ripard, followed by Keith and India Cutajar.
The Final Round saw six teams compete across three races under tricky conditions, with a light and shifty north-westerly breeze proving unpredictable as it funnelled out of Manoel Island Creek.
Despite the challenging backdrop, father-and-son combination Brian and Danny Flahive rose to the occasion, making a clean sweep and winning all three races to claim the title.
Vinicius Degrave and Nicole Valentina Zemoz finished in second place, narrowly edging out Jake Aquilina and Michaela Gauci Borda by a single point in a closely contested battle for the podium.
The prize-giving presentation took place at the Club following racing, in the presence of Rear Commodore (Sailing) Adrian Gauci Borda and Committee Member Aaron Gatt Floridia.
