FABIO SPITERI SECURES 2ND OVERALL AND 1ST AGE GROUP AT DECA TAIWAN

Despite facing a typhoon in Taiwan and a passport setback in Istanbul, Maltese endurance athlete Fabio Spiteri delivered an extraordinary performance at Deca Taiwan. Representing Malta with pride, Spiteri secured 2nd place overall and claimed 1st in his age group, completing one of the toughest ultra-triathlon challenges in just 229 hours. His feat included an astonishing 38 km swim, 1,800 km cycling, and 422 km running over 9.5 days, surviving on only three hours of sleep per day.

Spiteri’s resilience and determination have set a new benchmark for endurance sports, proving that mental strength is as vital as physical ability. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to his dedicated crew and masseur, Philip Cachia, whose support was instrumental in this achievement.
